Hopkins Schoolhouse
In the summer of 2024, Precise Exteriors, LLC was honored to play a vital role in the renovation of the historic Hopkins Schoolhouse in Hugo, MN. As part of our commitment to community service, we donated our labor and expertise to help restore this cherished landmark. Our team installed a GAF Roofing System, ensuring the structure is well-protected for years to come. In addition to the roof, we also completed the installation of LP SmartSide Siding and Walsh Windows, preserving the building’s historic character while enhancing its durability and energy efficiency. This project was a collaborative effort with the City of Hugo and local organizations dedicated to revitalizing the schoolhouse into a community gathering space and heritage center.
Being part of this restoration effort was incredibly rewarding, as it showcased the power of community engagement and leadership in preserving local history. Seeing the transformation of the schoolhouse and knowing that it will continue to serve as a symbol of heritage and connection for Hugo residents made this project especially meaningful. We are proud to have contributed to a restoration that will benefit the community for generations, and we look forward to supporting future initiatives that strengthen and celebrate the places we call home.
"More than a year ago, my husband posted a five star review for the work that Doug, DJ, and their team did on the roof of our house and the exceptional customer service they provided - and we remain happy customers. I am circling back to provide a second five star review on the excellent work they did on the Hopkins Schoolhouse in Hugo, MN - and the incredible generosity they have shown to our community in preserving our local history. For those of you who are not familiar with this building, it stood vacant for many years and had deteriorated to the point that the City was planning to tear it down. A group of local volunteers stepped up to lead the efforts to restore the building and transform it into a heritage center for the community - and Doug and DJ stepped up to help make that possible through donations of time, talent, and labor. The crews from Precise Exteriors removed several layers of shingles on the nearly 100 year old building and replaced the entire roof. I can't say enough good things about this team, the work they perform, and their contributions to the community. It feels great to do business with people who care so much and deliver such high quality work."

Precise Exteriors Gave Us More Than a Roof
Over the summer my mother (Debra) lost a husband and I a step-father. Shortly after he had passed my mother had noticed that her roof had begun to leak and that it needed to be repaired before winter came. A family friend had told us about Precise Exteriors and the work that they do so we decided to give them a shot.
After being denied through her insurance company my mother had contacted the county for finance options since she couldn't afford the roof straight out. A deferred loan through the county was pretty much our only option. Everything seemed to be falling into place. Troy from Precise exteriors and the workers came out and repaired the roof in no time.
When it came time to pay the bill the finance option fell through. My mother and I were working with Doug, the owner of the company to try to find a solution. Payment plans were brought up and liens were discussed. Keeping in mind that after my step-dad's passing my mother's financial situation was not the best Precise Exteriors decided to make a gift of the roof to my mother.
This was something that they didn't have to do but chose to out of the goodness of their hearts. It was nothing short of the best Christmas Gift my mother has ever gotten.
It has been a pleasure working with this company. They were always very professional and the communication could not have been better. Even if this situation wouldn't have happened I would recommend them to anyone and everyone looking for this type of work.
My mother and I would like to thank Doug, Troy, and Precise Exteriors from the very bottoms of our hearts for helping us get through this difficult time. Great people all around. I hope that I will get to work with them in some way shape or form in the future or at the very least help them to spread the word of the good they have done for my family.

Supporting Our Heroes at Home
At Precise Exteriors, we proudly seek out worthy candidates in our community who could benefit from our services. As a veteran-owned business, supporting fellow military members and veterans is especially meaningful to us. Recently, we had the honor of donating a full exterior home painting project for retired Vietnam Veteran Richard Rodriguez. We are grateful for the opportunity to give back to someone who gave so much for our country and our freedoms.
A Tribute to Richard’s Military Service
This recognition is written in honor of Richard Thomas Rodriguez — a proud American, loving family man, and Vietnam Veteran whose courage and commitment reflect the highest values of military service.
Born July 19, 1941, Richard was drafted into the U.S. Army in November 1967 at the age of 26. While many at that age were building their futures, he put his own on hold to answer the call of duty. He completed basic training at Fort Campbell, Kentucky, before being deployed directly to Vietnam.
Serving as a 48B Field Service Specialist, Richard played an essential role in supporting missions under extremely challenging and dangerous conditions. He served honorably in Vietnam from May 31, 1967, to December 5, 1968, even extending his time an additional six months to secure an early release — a voluntary act that demonstrated remarkable dedication and bravery.
The photographs from his service reflect the strength, resolve, and unwavering character of a young soldier serving during one of the most impactful eras in U.S. military history. His sacrifices leave a legacy that continues to inspire pride in his family and in everyone who learns his story.
We are deeply grateful for Richard’s honorable service, his resilience, and his lifelong example of selflessness. It is our privilege to recognize him and support him in return.
